Research interests

• Trustworthy and robust machine learning for computer vision:  Low-resource machine learning, graph neural networks, curriculum learning, weakly supervised learning, robustness to adversarial attacks and data compression losses, class activation mapping,  object recognition, human action / hand gesture recognition and salience modelling 

• Neuromorphic vision and machine learning: Dynamic vision sensors (event cameras), spiking neural networks, energy-efficient hardware implementations, trustworthiness, noisy event removal (data veracity) and vision applications.

• Machine learning for visual content  security and forensics: Watermarking, data hiding, provenance and image authentication.

• Video and image coding: Learning-based image/video coding, visual quality assessment, video coding for machines, Robustness to channel errors, international standards (JPEG and MPEG).

• Image, video and graph signal processing and analysis.

• Computer vision applications: Applications in robotics, creative industries, security and surveillance, assisted living, healthcare, remote sensing, computational imaging, digital manufacturing.
